Customizing your 'Procedure Shortcuts' Options for Treatment Planning

This article will guide you through the process of customizing procedure shortcuts in a patient's chart, making charting faster and more efficient.

Step 1: Go to the settings.

Step 2: From the settings, go to the clinical section.

Step 3: Click on procedure shortcuts.

Step 4: Here, you'll see different categories for the procedure shortcuts.

Step 5: To add a new category, click on the blue plus at the bottom of the category list.

Step 6: Each category has a three-dot menu where you can edit the category or delete it.

Step 7: Reorder the shortcuts by clicking and dragging them within the list.

Step 8: Once you've organized your categories, start adding or editing procedure shortcuts. To add a new procedure shortcut, select the category.

Step 9: Click on the blue plus.

Step 10: Name your procedure shortcut.

Step 11: Select the procedure from the drop-down list. You can search for procedures using the CDT code, any part of the name, or its short name.

Step 12: After adding the procedure, click the edit pencil to specify if it's for a permanent or primary tooth and the surfaces. Depending on the code, assign an arch, a quadrant, a surface, or a tooth number.

Step 13: Once you've added all necessary procedure shortcuts, click save.

Step 14: To edit a procedure shortcut, select the category and click the three dots next to the procedure shortcut. Then, click edit.

Step 15: Update the name, add additional procedures, or edit existing procedures.

Step 16: Click Save once you've made all necessary updates.

Step 17: To delete a procedure shortcut, click the three dots next to it and select delete.

Step 18: To create procedure shortcuts with multiple codes, select the category and click the blue plus.

Step 19: Name your procedure shortcut.

Step 20: Select your procedures. You can add as many codes as you need.

Step 21: Assign the proper quadrant(s), arch(s), tooth number(s), or surface(s) by clicking edit.

Step 22: Save your changes.

Step 23: Inside the categories, you can rearrange the procedure shortcuts by selecting the left side of it and dragging it to your preferred location.

With these procedure shortcuts, you can add a single code, multiple codes, quadrants, arches, teeth, tooth range, and more to make charting more efficient. You've now successfully customized your procedure shortcut layout and codes.
