Schedule Guides: Finding an Available Appointment Slot That Matches Your Schedule Guides

Schedule guides can be used to define which types of appointments you want to allow for certain rooms and providers, as well as your online booking and multi-booking preferences.

In this article, you'll learn how to use schedule guides to find an appointment slot that fits your schedule. We'll use the example of setting up schedule guides for Dr. Vleck in op five and op six.

Step 1: In this example, our schedule guide is already set up for emergency appointments, from eight to ten o'clock or eight to nine thirty, allowing a fifteen-minute overlap. If you still need to learn how to set up schedule guides, see Setting Up Your Perfect Schedule with Schedule Guides.

We will now search for an emergency appointment for a patient on February twentieth. Start with the patient you would like to book and click on "Add Appointment."

Step 2: Select the appointment category you are searching for, in this case, Emergency Visit.

Step 3: Select the date you are looking to book.

Step 4: Click on "Refresh slots" to see available appointment slots.

The slots shown will reflect the availability within the corresponding schedule guide.

Step 5: Select the provider and then the room. Roooms will indicate whether they conflict with the schedule guide for an emergency visit or if they are already booked. Select a room with no conflicts.

Step 6: Click Save.

Step 7: View the schedule to see your booked appointment and how it aligns with the corresponding schedule guide.
