To make setup and management easier, we’ve moved online booking settings and provider schedules into Schedule Guides. Here’s what you need to know:
Previously, enabling online booking involved:
- Turning on online booking for the practice in Settings (this step is still required).
- Setting up each desired appointment category for online booking in Settings:
- Deciding which patients can book online
- Defining whether it's a booking or a request
- Setting lead times for appointments.
- Configuring employee hours for online booking in Employee Settings.
- Optionally assigning providers to preferred rooms in Settings, which would then be prioritized for online bookings.
Previously, setting provider hours involved:
- Navigating to the desired provider's employee profile and going to the Scheduling section.
- Setting up weekly hours for each day and times that the provider is in the office.
What has changed?
Now, all your existing online booking configurations and provider schedules have been moved into Schedule Guides. If you had already set up online booking and provider hours, you'll see these settings reflected in your schedule by turning on the schedule guides view. Learn more about creating your own schedule guides here.
To view Schedule Guides:
- Go to your Schedule and click the gear wheel icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Select "Show" for Schedule Guides and Save.
- You'll now see all your Schedule Guides appear on the calendar.
How were my online booking settings migrated to Schedule Guides?
We’ve done the heavy lifting for you! A Schedule Guide has been created to reflect all your previously configured online booking preferences, including:
- Provider and practice hours set for online booking.
- Assigned appointment categories and provider assignments.
- Any affiliated rooms associated with providers.
If a category was set to default for all providers, we’ve created guides for each provider’s availability, linked to their rooms and that category.
Next Steps: Take a moment to review the Schedule Guides we’ve created. Ensure they match your preferred availability for online booking and provider hours. You can easily edit or delete guides directly from the schedule view to fine-tune your settings.
