Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After this date, Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates or technical support unless you purchase Extended Security Updates (ESU) from Microsoft. Learn more about Windows 10 end of life.
Archy strongly recommends upgrading your workstations to Windows 11.
Extended Security Updates
Microsoft offers Extended Security Updates for Windows 10 through October 13, 2026. These paid updates provide critical security patches to keep your system protected. Organizations and individuals can learn more and purchase ESUs at Microsoft's Extended Security Updates page.
Using Archy on Windows 10
Web Application: Archy will continue to work on Windows 10 as long as your browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge) still supports your operating system. However, we strongly recommend not accessing Archy on unsupported systems due to serious security risks, especially when handling patient information (PHI). Without security updates, your computer becomes vulnerable to threats that could compromise patient data.
Check your browser's support:
Archy Imaging Service: Our desktop application will continue to work on Windows 10 systems through October 2026 for those who purchase Microsoft's Extended Security Updates. Without ESUs, the Imaging Service will still function but your system won't have important security protections.
Protecting Patient Information
Using patient information on outdated software creates significant security and compliance risks. Without security updates, your computer is more vulnerable to viruses, ransomware, and data breaches. To keep patient data safe and maintain HIPAA compliance, we recommend upgrading to Windows 11 or another supported operating system before the October 2025 deadline.
