As a dental practice, managing adjustments and taxes can be a complex task. With Archy's user-friendly interface, you can easily add adjustments to invoices and track payments. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of adding adjustments to invoices and incorporating taxes using custom adjustments, to streamline your billing process and ensure accurate records.
To make an adjustment within the Invoice, go to Billing.
Click on Invoice.
Once you've opened the invoice you can add adjustments, or you can Create & Collect the invoice if no adjustments are needed.
To add adjustments click Add an Adjustment.
Here you will add your Adjustment Type, Adjustment Amount, and choose to apply it to the Appointment or Procedure.
Note: If applying the adjustment to procedures, the adjustment amount applied across all procedures must equal the total adjustment amount.- Adjustment Type: This can be a charge or discount adjustment. (Click the drop-down arrow to see your practice's set adjustments)
- Adjustment Amount: This can be either a dollar amount or a percentage.
- Apply: You can apply the adjustment to the appointment or to procedures.
Note: You can add multiple adjustments to the invoice. (Charge Adjustments & Discount Adjustments)
Click on Create & Collect after you have added the adjustments needed.
Enter the payment details for the invoice and click Record Payment.
Click on Done.
To view/print the receipt, click the drop-down arrow next to the appointment.
Click on the Action Menu next to the invoice and click View.
The receipt will show you all the details about the invoice. You will see the payment history at the bottom of the invoice.
Adding Tax to a Patient's Invoice
If you need to add tax to a procedure or appointment, create a custom adjustment for it and add it to the invoice or the ledger. Create a custom adjustment here: Custom Adjustments
