Note: You can only join Public groups, you have to be invited to join a private group.
Click on the Office Chat icon.
Click + Groups.
Click Join Existing Group.
Select the public group(s) you want to join and click Join.
The group(s) you joined will now show under Groups in your Chat Box and you are free to message within that group.
