MetLife Claim Validation Fix (Member Not Eligible)

In this article, you'll learn how to correct validation errors for MetLife patients in the claims section. This will enable you to successfully submit your claims.

If a patient has MetLife insurance, you might see a red exclamation point in the claims section. This indicates a validation error, meaning the member is not eligible with the data you have. MetLife uses its own validation system, which is integrated with Dental Exchange. Specifically, they require the subscriber ID to be the social security number.

Navigate to the patient's insurance details.

Go to the Subscriber tab.

Click on the Edit button.

Locate the Social Security number field and copy the Social Security number.

Paste the copied number in the Subscriber ID field.

Ensure there are no spaces or dashes left in the number.

Confirm that the number is correctly formatted. MetLife does not accept dashes or hyphens between numbers. If the number is in the Subscriber ID field without dashes, it will be accepted.

Once you've updated the ID, save the changes.

Check the claim. After saving, go back to the claim. The error should have disappeared. If the error has not been removed, you may need to delete and recreate the claim for the validation to recheck the insurance information. Delete & Recreate Claim.
