This article and video will provide an overview of the editing tools available on an image in Archy.
When viewing a patient's mount, the following tools appear on the top toolbar. Select an image to enable these tools.
- Compare Images --This tool allows you to select images from multiple mounts for the patient and compare them.
- Archive -- This tool allows you to archive an image, which will hide it from the mount view.
- Transfer Images -- this tool allows you to move the selected image(s) to a different mount for the current patient or a different patient.

Export-- This tool allows you to Export Images or Export Mount.

In addition, there are different views of the mount -- the full mount, a single image view, a double, or a quad image view:
Finally, the top toolbar contains additional options in the menu:
- Edit Image Data -- Allows you to change the date the images were taken and assign a sensor that was used. This is particularly helpful if you have calibrated a sensor and want to add measurements to your images.
- Show/Hide Archived -- Allows you to show or hide any archived images within the mount
- Show/Hide Metadata -- Allows you to show or hide the metadata associated with each image (tooth labels, date, and sensor information in the bottom bar of each image)
All editing tools are located on the left toolbar.
In the mount view, you can single-click one or more images (Shift + Click to select multiple images), to enable basic editing. In basic editing, the last 5 icons on the left toolbar will be enabled.
Basic Editing Icons include:
- Rotate Left -- This allows you to rotate an image left by 90 degrees.
- Rotate Right -- This allows you to rotate an image right by 90 degrees.
- Mirror Image on the X-Axis -- This allows you to mirror an image left to right or right to left.
- Mirror Image on the Y-Axis -- This allows you to mirror an image up and down.
- Revert -- This reverts the image back to its original exposure, removing any filters, annotations, or transformations made to that image.
Double-click an image to enter detailed editing mode and enable all the editing tools.
Layers -- This tool allows you to temporarily turn on and off any Drawing Annotations, Pathology Annotations, or Filters you have applied to an image.
Pathology Annotations - This allows you to draw pathology annotations. There are two options within this.
First Icon: Draw a shape to tag a pathology - This allows you to freely draw on the image any shape, and mark it with a pathology.
You can choose Caries Incipient, Caries Progressed, & Periapical Radiolucency.
You can also leave a note, up to 50 characters, on the drawing.
Second Icon: Draw a box to tag a pathology - This allows you to create a box around a specific area, and mark it with a pathology.
You can choose from Caries Incipient, Caries Progressed, Calculus, Notable Margin, Periapical Radiolucency, Root Canal, Filling, Implant, Anatomy, Bridge, & Crown.
You can also leave a note, up to 50 characters, on the drawing.

Free Draw - This allows you to freely draw on the image. Press F on your keyboard or click the button to enable drawing with the mouse.
Draw Line -- This allows you to draw a line on the image. Press X on your keyboard or click the button to draw a straight line.
Draw Ellipse -- This allows you to draw a circle on the image. Press E on your keyboard or click the button to draw an ellipse.
Add Text - This allows you to add text to an image.

Draw Distance --If you have calibrated the sensor used to take the image, this allows you to draw a line that will show you the length in millimeters (mm). This helps note bone loss or find the working length of a canal for Root Canal Therapy. You can press D on your keyboard or click the button to draw a measurement
Draw Angle -- This allows you to select three points and get the degree of that angle. Press A on your keyboard or click the button to draw an angle
Select / Move -- This allows you to select any annotation on the image and move it, or press delete on your keyboard to remove it. Press S on your keyboard or click the button to select and move any annotation you have already made
Brush Size -- When an annotation tool is selected, you can click this button to change the size of the brush stroke
Color Swatch-- When an annotation tool is selected, you can click this button to change the color of the annotation
Filters -- Press W on your keyboard or click the Filters button to enable filtering. This allows you to adjust the Sharpness, Brightness, and Contrast using the slider bars. You can also click and drag your mouse over the image to change the filters when this tool is enabled.
Lenses -- Click the button to choose a lens to temporarily apply to the image. You can Invert, Equalize, Auto Enhance, or ColorMap your image.
The info button at the bottom of the left toolbar will provide you with useful tips on annotations, filters, and keyboard shortcuts.
