Starting October 28th, 2025, Chromium, the framework that powers popular browsers including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and others, is introducing a new feature which requires users to accept a new permission for local network access.
Archy Imaging Service requires Local Network Access permission in order to function and Archy customers must accept this permission for AIS to function correctly.
This article covers how to accept the Network Permissions, including how to reset the permission setting in the event it was accidentally bypassed. You only need to accept Local Network Access on computers you intend to capture images or scan documents from. Workstations which do not perform these activities do not need to accept Local Network Access permission requests.
Following the update or when accessing Archy for the first time, you will be prompted for local network access, click "Allow" as shown below.
To confirm if Archy Imaging Service is properly connected, click the practice icon in the top left corner and look for a green icon next to Archy Imaging Service.
If you do not have a green icon, read below to troubleshoot further.
Resetting Local Network Access Permissions
If you accidentally clicked Block, click the Archy Imaging Service link from the practice dropdown in the top left corner. You will see a red icon next to Archy Imaging Service. Before proceeding, ensure Archy Imaging Service is downloaded and running on your computer.
Next, scroll down to highlighted section below and click the clipboard copy icon.
Then, open a new tab and paste the URL then press enter
Scroll down to the "Local network access" option in the list then click the dropdown and choose "Allow"
Next, close this tab and refresh Archy.
You should now have a green icon next to Archy Imaging Service and you will see a confirmation screen confirming access.
