In this article, you will be able to see the patient experience when a payment request link is sent to the patient via email or SMS.
First, the patient will receive a text message or email from the practice with the Payment Link attached.
Next, the patient will click the link and be prompted to enter the DOB (Date of Birth)
Once the patient inputs their DOB, they will click Next.
The first page they will come to has two options.
The FIRST option is: they will see their balance at the top of the screen, and can enter their credit card information and click next to process the payment in full.
The SECOND option is to click on 'sign in to view an itemized statement' at the bottom.
Note: This will allow your patient to view the statement and choose to make a full or partial payment.
Upon clicking the sign-in option, they will be prompted to enter their email and password for the patient portal.
Note: The patient can either log in or sign up for the patient portal. They must have an email on file already with the practice in their patient account.
Once they log into the Patient Portal, they will see their Pending Invoice at the top of the page.
They will click on the Pending Invoice, which will open it up, and then they will be able to veiw the breakdown of that statement.
Then they will click on Proceed to Pay.
When they click Proceed to Pay, they will be prompted to choose either a Full or Partial payment.
Then, the patient will click the + Add Card option.
Note: If the patient has a card saved on file, it will appear here for them to select.
They will enter their credit card information, check the box 'I authorize the practice to bill this credit card for services rendered in the future', and click Save.
Once the card has been authorized, they will click next to finalize the payment.
