Processing A Refund for a Migrated Credit

In this article, you'll learn how to refund a migrated credit to a patient in Archy.

Begin by searching for your patient.

Navigate to the patient's billing section.

Here, you'll find the patient's migrated credit.

Check the credit amount. In this case, the patient has a credit of $75.

To refund this, click on the Collect button.

Select Create Invoice.

You'll see a negative $75, indicating the amount to be refunded.

Click on Create.

Choose the method for refunding the patient. If the patient paid with a credit card in your previous software, refund it as a check in Archy, or refund it through the original credit card processor. If you refund the card using your previous card processor, use Card via External Terminal as the option in Archy.

After selecting your payment method, add any important details about the payment refund.

Add any internal notes regarding the refund.

Click Record Refund.

You'll now have the option to print a receipt of this refund transaction for the patient.

Click on Done.

You'll see that the migrated credit has been refunded. Now, process the check or the credit card payment to ensure the patient receives their money.
